Had a busy busy week! Wednesday I had a performance at Starry night, which was alotta fun, but you have no idea how stressful it was to get there... I had to come straight from England but came across a very mean train dude who shut the door as I was standing next to him... I was like "euhm I need to get on that train" obviously, and he was like "oh no can do, automatic doors, cant open them anymore"... I started flipping out well silently flipping out, and thought for sure I was only gonna get to Belgium after the show... thought I would've been killed by some people! Luckily I had memorized the train schedule wrong (thank god I'm blond!) and there was a new train just an hour and a half later, so I did miss the soundcheck but that wasn't too bad, made performing a bit more exciting :p

Yesterday night we played another Acoustic Set in this miniature (but gezellig) café in Leuven. The sound was horrible, couldn't really hear anything so if you were there and I popped your ears, sorry! But it was good practice and hopefully some people that had never heard of me yet liked some of my songs :-)

There was one guy who asked me to have a picture taken with him and I swear as soon as I stood next to him and started smiling, he put his hand on my butt (i said what what?!) and this wasn't a young hot guy so definitely wasn't feeling it, but I was so happy that someone had brought along my single, asked me to sign it and then have a picture taken that I couldn't turn around and slap him... so I leaned the other way, trying to get away... but definitely feel fraped... or well atleast a heavy invasion of my personal space... next time no chance mister! I know kungfu! :p

anyhooo... I'm gonna enjoy this lovely sunday by doing a ton of homework... yay :-s

This Weekend

When you're a singer, you have to play at many different kinds of events. This weekend we did a show at a gala bal (sounds fancy but was filled with borderline alco's) and one at a highschool festival (i should've know students aren't in school in the weekends, duh!). Both were fun and a good practise and bonding moment for my band and I, hope we have many more shows coming up!

Right now I'm on a train en route to England... I slept the first hour (only went to bed at 4 yesterday and had to be at our soundcheck at 12.30 today so, I deserved a nap) but woke up from this weird smell... I didn't open my eyes but I just knew the guy next to me had taken his socks off... GROSS! I mean it's not gross if you have clean, rosy smelling feet (like mine) but when you're old and bald, it's obvious that ain't the case. So after my not trying to breathe failed, I peaked to the left and sure, saw a pair of smelly old socks... I mean if you're reading a german book, a french magazine and speak English, you should be smart enough to know when to put those shoes back on! Luckily the guy went off to the 'restaurant' part and I could breathe normally again! :p

anyway, besides that, not much going on... BUT for the Belgians who might be (probably not cuz only like one person reads my blog... :p) reading this, I've got two awesome performances coming up this week. The first one is on wednesday 16.02.11 in Wilrijk at "Starry Night" in the CC with my band and there are tons of other cool artists playing, and then saturday 19.02.11 we're playing an acoustic set in Leuven, at Café Plaza 22.30... So be there or be SQUARE!

As you can see, we had A BLAST!

Think I'm going crazy... hearing strange sounds coming from outside, but just took a look and there's nothing there! Desperately need some sleep but the last few days I've been quite insomnia prone... Either from a) the adrenaline of running everywhere to make it on time for rehearsals/shows/school or b) Started reading newspapers, but like too much of the good stuff, there's too much going on in this world for my brain to compartmentalize... Whatever it may be, tonight I better get some sleep! :p

Singing, talking & melting

I'm so in love with my super cute mini hp laptop! As I'm eating some yummy carrot soup in a little soups n juices bar in the middle of town, I can actually blog at the same time cuz I didn't die dragging along a huge laptop... nope I just slid my small (pink btw, i know,AWESOME!) hp in my purse and barely even felt it!
I am however kinda tired, not from a heavy bag, but from going to bed pretty late after a very intense (and hot!) band rehearsal... crammed in one little room with 6 people and no airco.. trust me don't wear anything grey! Everyone was melting... but it was fun and eventhough we only had a limited amount of time we got through everything and it all actually sounded good so I'm excited to go rock the stage with my band...! 

On another note, I had to get out of bed, or more like roll out of bed, early this morning to go to my very first voice coaching lesson... It's not to learn how to sing or anything but it's so I can finally start talking like a normal person :p haha no my blabbing is pretty standard I think but it's more to learn how to talk without straining my vocal chords, and with the right pronunciation, and to stay on topic during interviews and not completely stray and start talking about my mega cute cat (Gigi)... And it was fun, the lady gave me an introduction, some lecture to take home and pretty soon I'm gonna talk like a rockstar! (or maybe just like a more cleaned up version of Alice, less "euhming" and more sexy and smooth, sweet talking)
